The Surfrider Foundation & Deep Blue Sea Shooter
Each person on Earth has a connection to the ocean. Whether we use it for leisure activities such as surfing, kayaking, swimming, bird watching, and camping on the beach, or take pleasure in the seafood it provides, we enjoy the ocean as a part of our lives and desire to keep it clean and available for responsible use. In order to do that, we added a fun addition to our Oyster Shooter menu: The Deep Blue Sea Oyster Shooter. For every Deep Blue Sea Oyster Shooter sold, Shuckin’ Shack Franchising will donate $1 to the Surfrider Foundation- working to protect and preserve the world’s oceans, beaches, and waves.
Shuckin’ Shack’s core value of “Sustainability” goes perfectly with the mission statement of Surfrider, which speaks to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans. We don’t want to achieve short-term immediate success at the expense of future success and enjoyment. We can only deliver the best product to our customers by sourcing those products from a clean and protected ocean.
Today, the Surfrider Foundation maintains over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide. We chose to work with this non-profit for multiple reasons, a large one being that they seek to give money to the actual programs they run, as opposed to sinking a majority of the money into Administrative Expenses. We are excited to support them in fulfilling their mission of protecting the ocean we all love and enjoy.
